PALACIO DA REGALEIRA or QUINTA DA REGALEIRA
My private tour today was to visit the Sintra residence of multimillionare Monteiro de Carvalho who was a successful coffee merchant from Brasil. Built in the late 1800’s with the wealth of a great fortune. Visitors enjoy the many treasures found on this estate, a small romantic chapel, fountains, statuary, wells, grottos and lush beautiful gardens. Esoteric symbols and symbols of the masons can be found here. Now it is a government property open for visitors. Located in the historic center of Sintra Portugal. Sinatra is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
During the private tour I like to point out the beautiful cork trees that are found along the scenic drive. These trees can live for about 300 years. The cork is harvested every nine years. The cork industry is generally regarded as environmentally friendly. Considered sustainable since the cork trees are not cut down.
Cabo Da Roca Sintra Portugal is the westernmost point of the European continent. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the jagged cliffs out to the Atlantic Ocean. An inscription can be found on the monument from the famous Portuguese poet Luis Camoes (1524-1580) who described the area as “Where the land ends and the sea begins”
You will find a lighthouse, coffee shop and gift shop here.
Join me Portugal Private Driver Mauricio Rodrigues for a tour that will make your visit to Portugal a very memorable one. I look forward to sharing the treasures of Portugal with you.
