Today’s visit was (Castelo dos Mouros) one of the tourist attractions in Sintra, The castle was built in the 8th & 9th centuries by the Moors on the mountain top.  The Moors were conquered by the first king of Portugal in 1147.

This monument has been classified as a Unesco World Heretage site since 1995.
