Fado is the music of Lisbon, in fact this kind of music started in Lisbon Mouraria/ Alfama districts by bohemians.

We can say Fado is sadness, nostalgia, poety and romance (a bit like the portuguese are)!

The greatest fado singer ever was Amalia Rodrigues (the voice), from the newest generation my favorite is Ana Moura, there are lots  of places/ restaurants in Lisbon to experience Fado.
